2001 Srx Needs Help

Sounds like it's hitting a rev limiter huh?
1. Pull one plug, hook it up, and run the engine. do you lose spark intermittently?
2. Read spark plugs. Is one cyl worse than the others?
3. After you've tried everything everyone says and it still does the same thing then:

Replace or remove and repair your main wiring harness.

These sleds have a tendency to wear through the main harness. this results in shorts and CDI box cutting the spark thinking TORS has been activated. I've seen it twice on 3 SRXs.

If the harness is oil soaked replace it. If you can't find a problem, replace it.

Make sure the carb slides are returning properly. I had a piece of foam from the air box jam a slide open and tors would kick in every time I got above idle.

i had that same chuck of foam (on my '99 srx), make its way into the airbox, and thru the carbs, only to get caught by the reeds on the center cylinder. the sled would run ok for a few sec and then not so well, w/a bunch of sputters. i was like WTF?? tore it down and found the foam. how it ever made its way in there and not get stuck in the carbs, i don't know.
