I think I had this same pipe on a 1999 Phazer, which if I am thinking right would be the same motor as your sled. You will need to change the jets and your clutching maybe OK, but just a primary spring and secondary helix/spring change, don't need to change primary weights. These are very simple changes. The pipe did add nice power and sound to the sled.

ok thanks man, i was reading up on the Hauck pipe on here from older posts and i don't think that the guy changed his jets, and didn't need clutching, but did it anyways, oh yeah, the 99 Phazer had the same motor, also I think I read that Yamaha's come over-jetted from factory, and that one guy went DOWN 1 size in jetting with his hauck pipe, I wont have the pipe until the snow goes anyways, so then I can set up the clutches over the summer. what other upgrades will give my fan-cooled "beast" more power??? I already have the lower gearing, the specs say that the gearing is 3 teeth lower on top gear on the Mtn Lite than on the short track Phazer (18 t top gear on MTN Lite, 21 t on short tracks). I dont have the funds to get the motor ported and polished, I gotta make the money from a summer job, lol. What will Boysen Power Reeds do for the performance?

Better throttle response
Dont go down in jet size!, just feel it out by checking the plugs.

jetted up 1 size on my 99 phazer...I don't remember exactly what jets were used but it is a good little power adder. I paid $300 for the pipe and clutch kit a couple years back. Hauck makes a clutch kit specifically for the pipe(just primary and secondary springs and a helix).

I would not go down in jet size with the pipe. You would be asking for trouble. Especially if you have cold weather up there. Call Hauk's 715-234-6195 and they will give you the jet specs. I would start there. Mine was reliable with the Hauk jet specs. Just main jet change. I would put the money into the clutch kit before the reeds. Maybe do reeds next year. They will add some throttle response, but it won't be too noticable.

yeah im planning on getting a clutch kit, but I can't seem to find a Canadian shop that sells them specifically for my machine, I want more bottom end power, not so much concerned about top speed, the sled will do 125 km/h on the speedo now, but as long as I can do about 115 km/h, it dont really matter after that.

Did you call Hauck's to see if they would ship you one? I am guessing they will want $189 US for it, something like that.

No I don't say I'll call them anytime soon, not gonna have the pipe for a while yet, like i said before, I gotta go to work this summer to get any money at all, Im still in senior high, lol, so money is kind of an issue. I basically have the pipe, my uncles gonna pick it up for me this weekend I think, but he's in labrador, so I might have to wait till summer the longest. Thanks for the info guys

Hey guys Im just wondering how much weight I will save from the stock pipe to the hauck pipe, or is it about the same weight? I should have it on the sled next week.
