BMP's claims for hp ratings are the following:
-BMP 780 trail kit, they claim 170 hp (I would say 160-165 at most) - $2295 USD + pipes
-BMP 780 lake race kit, they claim 177 hp - $2595 USD + pipes
-Hauck 900 stroker kit - $4299 + pipes - 190 hp would be a guess.
PM Buffalobob for Bender 835 pricing.

are the all reliable for trail riding ?? and what 780 kit do you have for your srx?

For trail riding, sure. I trail ride mine and get 15 mpg.
Mine isn't really a kit. It started out as a basic 780 top end, then the cylinders were ported fairly heavy, and the cases were ported as well. I run Bender 835 pipes on mine, and 38mm carbs, and it peaked at 181hp on the dyno. Of course, the 835's can make more power because they are a bigger motor.

Valin, Does buffalobob work for Bender?

Yes and no. He doesn't work FOR bender, but he does work AT Bender.

will all these mods run on pump gas 91 octane? and can you port the 900 stroker to gt even more power say 200 hp?
valin

If done properly, I would assume a well setup, fairly heavily ported 900 stroker to make an honest 195 to 200 hp on pump fuel.
what needs to be done to make it run on pump gas and does hauck do good work that will allow to run on pump gas? as for skid what would you reccomnend for a skid stock or something else? what kind of numbers does that 1136 put out valin? and whats the speeds for the 780?

What are you planning on doing with the snowmobile you are building? Hauck can do good work, but others can as well, and probably cheaper. Call Iantomasi. They'll build you what you need.
Numbers? The 1136 makes 270hp, 150 ft. lbs. of torque.
The 780 ran 128.7 mph in 2000' in a full trail setup. It currently holds the record in the 800 Improved Trail class. Traction is a big issue.

Iantomasi can build you anything you want. The price varies upon the application. I don't know how much they would charge. It would be expensive.
yea you have any idea how much more or less than hauck?
valin

Nope. You'll have to call them. It would save you alot of time and questions on here to just go straight to the source.
you got the number thanks valin

Gerry Iantomasi 905-263-4868. I talked to Gerry today and what a nice, straight foward guy. I threw alot of ideas his way today reguarding building a trail monster. Most of my ideas involved the 780 vs. the 700. My original set up was going to be a Simmons 780 kit W/ the carbs., heads, cylinders, case, and exhaust manifolds all ported with stock pipes, stock CDI, and a bender silencer. He said when the 700 and the 780 are set up identical the 780 only produces aprx 2-3hp more on the dyno (for the trail set up sled). So for the money, parts, reliability, and manurism the 780 is not worth it. He priced me 100.00 per head, 250.00 per cylinder, 350.00 for the case, and 100.00 per carb. That is the price for a 160-165hp Trail SRX 700 by Iantomasi.

I looked into big bore SRXs and both Aaen and Bender talked me out of it. They both had similar opinions to Iantomasi. The resultant wall section remaining after boring is quite thin and the combustion O-ring is dangerously close to the flame front. You have to weld up the top of the jug and recut the O-ring groove to provide more land area, and this is rarely done with 780s.

I have never had an issue with o-rings, nor have I heard of that becomming an issue. There is still more than enough meat from the cylinder wall and the o-ring groove. However, you are correct by saying the cylinder walls become very thin when bored. This why the 780's tend to crack between the main exhaust port and booster ports if you hurt the motor. This is where the 835's are far superior, as they are sleeved, and retain a thick cylinder wall.

Gerry and Flav are great guys, and are excellent engine builders and tuners. You will not be dissappointed with any work done by them, and that is a good price. I figured it would be around $1000 Cdn. for top end work. 160hp in an SRX is a stout SRX. You will be pleased. Good luck with the build.
