Trying to save a customer a couple bucks . 02 Viper. want to replace the left lower axle bearing while I'm replacing his track. Looks like a 6205 idler wheel bearing with a wider center hub with 2 set screws. I've had no luck finding a alternative. $40 is nuts, but if it's the only thing.. i guess it is what it is....

HELL THATS NOT A BAD PRICE. THAT SPEEDO SIDE BEARING FOR MY VMAX 800 WAS $76 AT THE YAMAHA DEALERS. NOW THATS NUTS. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I use Timken or Fafnir collar lock for that and the jackshaft. I think it's about $24. this is the part number for teh drive shaft: rae25rr . fyi, the one for the jackshaft is rae25rrb (rounded outer race). With the collar lock, you don't have to worry about the set screws letting go.

i searched for a few hours and called several places ...and bought a couple,,,,and none were a exact match ,,,the center collar was about a 1/4 inch wider ....so i gave up and spent the 34 dollars on a factory one ....

I got all you guys bet. when i was out for my week ride with my 3 friends back at the end of February mine let go and I had to limp it approx 15km to Pointe au Baril just north of Parry Sound, Ont. i had to pay $50 for the bearing and $20 for the trox set screws from a yamaha dealer. no one else in Parry Sound had the bearing. i also had to purchase a $10 bit screwdriver just so i could tighten the set screws.that's not the kicker, the kicker was i had to pay the dealership $150 to deliver it to me approx 50km away, the kid shows up in a diesel jetta. probably cost him $10 in fuel for the round trip. ouchhhh now that was an expensive bearing. :brr thank God it was the PTO side that let go so we were able to fix it oursleves the next morning.

got 6000 miles on the first one. Changed the chain case so replaced the other bearing, got it at the bearing shop made in turkey. Only lasted 2000miles before going out. Repacked the orginal to use it again . wont go the cheap way again.
