03 SXViper good sled?

I am thinking about buying an 03 SXviper long track powder edition. It needs a crank and center piston. I was wondering if they are a good sled or if they are a problem sled. Buddy wants 2,900$ canadian I'm going to try to beat him down to 2000$ is that a good price for that sled without a crankshaft piston or cylender?

Vipers are great. Be prepared to spend atleast a g-note repairing the engine
Most short track Vipers around here are going for 3000-3500

My opinion....too much. but how many km's? what shape is the sled in? lots of variables to consider. but it should b considerably less than a well running viper and the post above states how much they're goin for

$2500 would be a fair price for that, man, you should see what some sleds go for here in newfoundland!!! an 03/04 Viper MTN would go for about $5000 around here, if In good shape, With repairs needed to the motor, offer the guy around 24/25 hundred

Mtn Viper sleds usually go for $800 - $1000 more than the shorty of the same condition.

I think you should be paying about 2000.00- 2400.00 for it. If it is in good shape, other than that vipers are a great sled. Rebuilding a viper crank aint cheap. Just did mine and the parts from yamaha were expensive.

If you get the sled get an SRX crank, I read on here that it gives the vipers more torque, and gave it a little deeper sound, plus it fits right in as far as I know.
