Hi,just about finished with my exciter, and i am in the process of tuning in the carbs.
I will be running twin psi pipes with exhaust-wrapping,homemade cold-air intake(yeah, realy) and 330 mainjets.
The psi spec sheets for psi-twins said to turn the airscrew one turn out.
So this will mean exactly one revolution out on the screw from when the spring on the airscrew is totaly compressed?
I thought it should maybe be a few more turns out than that.

Should i just turn the airscrews out one turn, and try to run it?I guess that way i could work my way to a perfect setup

Also,if i read the plugs and find the engine running lean,do i need to use bigger mainjets(maybe 340?),or will raising the needle do the trick?
I am kind of a sea-level rider,so i guess it could be running lean if the temperature drops heavily

Thanks for helping, quick answers will be apreciated since im going riding this friday

Jetting - You will have to tune each carb circut. Airscrew/idle, needles/midrange, and mains/topend. There is some overlap, but thats the gist of it.

On my old phazer with the airscrew here is how I was taught to do it. Warm the sled up to operating temp at the temps it will be used in. Set idle where you want it. On carb A turn the screw in till lightly seated. Then back it out until you achieve the highest rpm. Readjust the idle, and repeat for the other carb.

howed that work? im sure you know q-8 and 330 are recommended.sync carbs and go 1 turn, hit it,did it bog?adj in small increments, had these pipes a long time ago and the biggest improvement came from gearing it down,i tooth top, they constantly loaded up on me and only worked wide open,8200 rpm, lots of fun but wore things out quickly, watch compression and lets hear results.oh by the way i had these on my 90 and it didnt come with "updated needles" had to have all the work done, flywheel weight, cold air kit, powerjet blockoff, all in all i learned without porting, bored carbs, and shaved head my single psi and even the stock pipe worked better, but they were addicting, sounded great, again, results?
