I just bought a 1998 srx mountain 700 and don't know what weights I should have. It has a comet 108exp clutch. I put a 51/43 helix and silver spring in it. I'd like it to jump when the clutch cuts in. I just mostly play around in the deep snow but still want it to be fast. Also should I gear it down or up and how much it's stock right now at 21/39.

I have a MSRX. That gearing is OK for flatland riding. Too much spring in the secondary...go to a green at 60. Sled should run at 82-8400 rpm. Go to heavier weights to bring rpm,s down. 2 grams is roughly about 3-400 rpm,s either way.

Is a thunder shift kit good for better lowend snap. Can the comet weights be ground with a notch. Why won't the silver spring be good.

The silver is way too stiff...you won,t shift out on the secondary. You can buy heavy hitters to fit that clutch...use them. Don,t even ask how to set em up...way too many different parts in your clutching equation.
