Any one have vforce reeds ina 98 srx>?

I want to know if they are worth buying. Friends bought new sleds this year and I want to spruce my 98 up to hang a little longer. Want to know about having to jet how well they perform and overall worth the money. Have a 98 srx 700 all stock.

From dealing with aftermarket reeds in my SRX and hearing other stories of guys running V-Force, Carbon Tech, or Boyesen, I would say just go with the stockers. Sure aftermarkets may get you a little better throttle response, maybe even a few more MPG, but overall the stockers I have found to be better. Reeds cost a lot of money for a small, if any, performance increase.

I'd have to agree w/ jwifferdill but I can't really speak from experience on this one. I know I have heard many guys say that you're wasting your money on reeds for an SRX. I've got V-Force Delta 2's on my Viper but I got the sled used and they were on it when I got it. I never had any reason to try the stock ones to compare but maybe I'll give it a try sometime. I wouldn't imagine I'd see much of a difference. The only difference I have noticed is the Viper has much less oil/gas in the airbox than my SRX used to but maybe it's a characteristic of the sled and not the reeds???

Had Delta 2s on my MSRX 700 and didn't notice any gains running against my buddies stock reeded MSRX 700. Ran them before and after maybe a negligable difference but I'm just being nice. Waste far as I'm concerned.

Put that money in a better clutch setup and go over your entire sled looking for driveline friction. The SRX is a powerfull sled and if tuned weekly after each ride will most often win on the trail agains any other stocker. By tuned weekly I mean put it on the stand in the garage turn on the heat thaw it out and go over the sled after your weekend blasting. Making sure that all the parts/clutches are clean and working like they should.
