I really like the SRX and have wanted one for three years now. Well down the road a ways is a 1999 srx with 3450 miles on it. It would appear to be all stock i would give it a 95% i am wondering if i should hold out for the 2001 that i have heard are the best sleds to get. It is one of the cleanest 99's ive seen in a while. I looked up the nada on it and it's very close to 2000.00 the guy has no price on it and was not there when i stoped to look at it. Should i go back with a compression tester and some cash or keep looking. Thanks for the help Andy

To me it wouldn't matter i have an 01 and a 98 love them both. I can tell you i wouldnt give $2000 for it i just paid $1800 for my 01 now it may not be as clean as the 99 your lookin at though.

Wish i had a pick of it to put up. It looks like it just sat in a garage since new. Just called and found out that the owner is out of town untill the 6th of july. Ill have to wait to find out.

you guys in the US are lucky to get sleds and parts so cheap. I just saw a 2000 with 5000 km and the guy wants $3500 for it. ridiculous that a 9 year old sled still gets that kind of price. If I could get them for $1800 even with exchange I'd snap them all up.

Snowbear..ain't that the truth.I wouldn't pay $3500 for an 01 in Canada.I paid $3700 for my 02 SRX 2 years ago with lower mileage. And if you think that is alot for sleds up here, the prices on parts from the dealer is outrageous.I get all my parts basically new from the US or from harness racer
in Ontario (used parts).

$2.500,, real good condition,, (my-=-most),, another couple thousand miles.. time to look at top end? Don't know, haven't looked at mine yet..

I have a 99 & love it. If it is good shape I wouldn't hesitate. People act like 98/99's are bottom of the food chain...BS. It's all in the tuning. The 01's are hardly miles above them. Some jetting & clutching changes (which everyone does anyway), dial in the suspension & you'll have a sweet, bullet proof sled. I'll put mine against any newer srx without hesitation. The few more HP they have is hardly worth the premium price & is quickly made up with proper tuning.

I'd go there with cash in hand, the most you'd pay. Put 75% of the $$ in one pocket & 25% in the other. Selling a sled in July he needs cash. As long as it all checks out go for a deal, then it's a win win for you.

Good luck!

99s are ok if the crank is trued and welded. I think people steer away from these sleds because they worry about the crank.

Well I got ahold of the guy and he told me to make an offer. I told him i had no idea what it was worth and to put me in the ball park... He said 1500ish I said ill be down tommorrow afternoon with comp tester.

My wifes sxr that we sold had 125 warm on all three. I should be looking for a bit more on this i think. What do you guys see for numbers 140ish stock warm?

Well it followed me home on the trailer close to 125psi all three the same. 1500.00 it has 144 trail picks. I dont know where to start. I will drain the fuel and clean the carbs/power valves. Chain case oil grease etc.... Mods will come after i learn how to tune what horsepower i have on tap stock. Im going to look for some clutch tuneing tips etc... I have an endless supply of 100 octane low lead. (for later use)
