I seem to remember reading a thread on here about one of the members who sold long travel front shock mounts for an srx. Can anyone tell me if this is right, or am I dreaming? Thanks.

dreaming.......
You can take the shock mounts ,turn them upside down and switch to the opposite sides.A little grinding to fit and you increase your height about an inch. Not sure if that was what u wur lookin fur.LOL

I already flipped my mounts a couple years ago Blue, I seen the advertisement on ebay for them last winter and thought I read on a thread that one of the TY members here was the one who made them...or maybe I did dream that part up...lolbluemonster1 said:dreaming.......You can take the shock mounts ,turn them upside down and switch to the opposite sides.A little grinding to fit and you increase your height about an inch. Not sure if that was what u wur lookin fur.LOL
Betheviper is the guy that had them. Not sure if he still is doing them or not. Last I heard he was working on a new and improved version.
I've got a set of them in my srx with front shocks from a viper. Works great.

I think you're right Staggs, as soon as you said harness racer, that sounded familiar. Thanks.staggs65 said:harness racer also
Hey Ryan, those viper shocks mount different on top, don't they? I was thinking of keep my ohlins on. I'm long tracking my sled and just wanted a higher stance, I wasn't so worried about a longer shock travel for my application, but just out of curiosity, what all is involved in putting viper shocks on? Do you have to widen your stance and extend your radius rods, steering arms and sway bar? And if so, will some off of a viper or maybe an SXR work?Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
Yep they are clevis mount on the top. I bolted them in and left everything else as I was looking to raise the front end. I don't run a sway bar so I don't know about that, but the rest of the rods and such worked fine for me. I've ran it that way for 3 years now without any issues.

front shocks
I run the " Betheviper" front shock mounts and the stock 2004 Viper shocks with great results.. The Viper shocks I bought were new take offs and I might bet putting Viper spec Ohlins next year so the stock ones will be up for sale.

I also have the viper rear suspension in my srx, its No M10 but its better than the Srx rear skid! I had my ohlins front shocks on for a while with flipped brackets and it was ok. There was a bit of the track that didn't touch ground in the rear due to the front being too low I dont know how the Works performance shocks sit. Are they longer than the ohlins?
There are brackets for standard srx KYB's or ohlins shocks on eBay under Yamaha shock and suspension accessories.... Raise of 1.25",,$32.00 + 6.00 SHIPPING.....
