This was a weekend happening that had 208 drivers with cars entered for 2 full days of fun in paris ontario.Straight stock, Pro modified, Outlaw class, Mini smash. Trucks,Chain Races,Roll over,Team derby,Demo cross,and our class Fiqure 8 racing.

We took four cars my 86 ford gt a neon and 2 sunbirds.Chris my son won the event with the little pig that could and is point leader this year.Flat tires on 2 cars slowed us down and the yellow bird got smashed up pretty bad but was a derby car last year so he still had fun.This is for the Lucas oil sponsered races that happen all summer long so it will keep us busy till the snow flies.

Over 65 thousand people will attend the truck show this weekend so it will be the biggest show of the year.
I have been working on the escort trying to get it ready and be more competative.Problems with the E brake should be solved with new pads,cables and a better handle i swapped out of a sunbird.
Welded rear strut braces down on the bottom to brace them out straigter.Added a tube from spindle to spindle and cut the links out of it so i have a straight rear axle now instead of independent.
We went out and got one of those manual tire changers from princess auto.Works great for derby tires as you put tubes in them anyway.Replaced the front 205s with 185 snow tires.They were 2 wide and would rud the sway bar when fully cranked.
Heres hopeing i am ready for another round of Rock Around the Block

Thrill Show Poroductions do a great job of running there derbys and fergas was no exception.It was a wash out of a weekend with all the rain and mud but the track was covered with huge plastic tarps untill the show got started.
After a heat of rollover the rain started again and ruined it.I was out first and ended up over heating with mud on the rad and pounding it in 2nd gear but finished 3rd.
The track was fit for a swine by the time chris got out and he won his heat and got in the final.
Well the little pig that could did it again but he got lucky very lucky.
P Becker the lucas oil sponsered 4 time points champion was up a lap untill he got bumped off the track and got stuck in the mud with 2 laps left.
So another 2 trophys for the rec room and me going home with my tail between my legs.lol Next race is in sutton aug 8 and is a feature race that pays well and is not to far to drive 2.

I ended up pouching the head gasket on my car so i changed it out today.Didnt like overheating i guess.Hooked up another fan for the rad and will make a mud sceen for this weekend.

The wife likes THE SLOUCH FROM THE COUCH......lol

Well no points or trophys or big money for ether of us this weekend past.I had a front bumper lodged in a rearguarter panel tubeing that i had not capped on fri night.And busted a tie rod link sat.
Chris made it to the feature and was leading untill he got pushed around and got stuck.1000 bucks and points went to dave frost.Sat he made it to the final and was beat by Peter becker for the win.
Peter is one hell of a stand up guy............and a good driver to boot.Watching him drive around all us red neck wantabees with his standerd sunbird is like watching a ballroom dancer out on the floor.It is not hard to see why he has won the points lead for 4 years standing.All with the same car to boot.Not a finer represenitive of Lucas Oil and Inside Track could be found ..imo.

Looks like alot of fun!! That's something I've always wanted to try. I used to work with a girl in southern MN that was really good at driving the derbys, very fun to watch! Good luck this weekend!!!

Tks guys its allways fun.Tillsonburg was good for chris he got a first in his heat with 3 tires only. Halfway thru his heat one of the rear tires got bashed off but it did not slow him down at all.2nd place dave got a first so they are close in points.Peter Becker got intangald with 3 place points guy Crazy George so they both sat there stuck together watching the others race by.
I broke again the other tierod this time.
Here is some pics of Peters car from last year.We past him on the highway on the way out there and i could not help but wonder how many people think it is on the way to a scrapyard and not another race.lol

Well we just got back from cambridge after running in there derby.Chris is doing really well 3 tropheys tonight with a last lap pass for a win in the feature.The car got best decerated for being the swineflue destroyer,a heat win and the final win.Same last weekend in kinmount.And a heat win in orangeville thursday night.I counted the tropheys tonight we have over 50 and a lucasoil watch in our rec room.One of the guys that race took chris in the wall and got all pumped up when he returned the favor by ramming his door.He complained to the officals as that is a nono.Next race he had a tshirt on that said (i survived the swine flue 2) a pink helmet and a piggybank hanging from his back window.We thought that was pretty funny.He did calm down but is after me on the track now saying i am playing blocker or spoiler...of course i am.
I never new that a points chase would lead to so mutch contiversy you would think its nascar lol. We race in georgetown sat london sunday and have races every weekend until the final in oct in rockton.

I got my first win of the season with the old escort it was only a heats race but it shure felt good finally nocking the monkey off my back.There is a big feature race this thursday night in brampton about 20 minites from the house.Looking forword to that as alot of freinds should be there.

Bottom pics was a photo finish on grass for chris.Passed last lap and almost got beat by a half lenth.
Others are me getting ansy on the line and hitting a block bending a tie rod and backing into budy there when i could not get around a corner.
He found out the hard way the gt has push bars.lol
The guys with the blue cars did the fox and hound!
They rent the track and put out 4 minis and a large car.
The large car gets beat up by the minis and viseversa untill it dies than the minis go at it.The winner gets 300 bucks donated by there boss a scrap yard owner.
