i have just bought an srx 700 -98 that doesnt start, it gets fuel, have good compression and spark, but i think the spark is to weak, does anyone know the values or the measurements that the stator coil would have so i can measure if it works properly?
change your plugs, could be fouled, start on easy stuff first,
are the plugs getting wet ??

Have you tried to just barely crack the throttle as you pull on it? Mine would never start unless I did this. Just a thought.

yes i have, i have no disconeccted the contacs that come from the eengine, its 3 contakts, one with 2 one with 3 and one with 5 pins in it, the one with 3 was very black and melted how come? which cables should i measure between when i will measure the ohm value from the stator?

today, i disconected the cables from the headlights, pulled them out from under the engine but i didnt se any real damages to the cables... but before i was going to remove the crankwheel and stator i thougt that i would have to try to pull 5 pulls in the starter,
a little bit oft start gas, 3 pulls then it started!
and goes great ever after, but if i put in the cables to the gauges and headlight it dies after a while, shortcut somewhere?

a little update for the curius, i got it to run as it should now! an mecanic in town gave me a tip that it could be bad connection in the contact that was black and burned and that it makes sparkes there, so i removed the contact and replaced it and now it runs great! starts 2nd pull when cold...
now im only trying to find som quicrods or i will build my own, anyone knows how much i can take away from existing rods without having problems with the track slipping on the drive wheels?
