Went to clean and adjust power valves and when i started my 04 viper i noticed it didnt sound right. The middle pipe was cold. pulled plugs and the middle was clean as a new plug. I changed the plugs before starting. Things i know. Good spark, good compression. I did pull the carbs to check jetting when i first bought it and never started again. I'm guessing somthing wrong with carbs? I'm going to start with a good cleaning. Does this sound like i'm heading in right direction. It's a 04 viper s with cpr tripples, v force 3 reeds. Yes the jetting was correct also. Thanks guys till learning. Chris
Possible that the pilot is plugged on that cylinder. Happens to my srx on occasion. Not very big holes in those. So yep carbs are a good place to start.

Before you pull the carbs off, pull the fuel line off the center carb and see if you have fuel there. Could be just that you didn't have enough fuel in the center carb yet. How long did it run for?

just got the carbs apart and the main jet was plugged. I'm sure thats the problem. I must have loosened up some crud when i took them apart the first time. I didnt hurt anything running it like that? Only ran for a few minutes.

No it shouldn't have, I'm sure it was only running on idle or a few RPM's above seeing how there is no snow on the ground.
