Do I need a tunnel extension? And is this a common mod to this sled or should I go for longer or shorter?

You do need a Tunnel extension, the 136 is a great set up all around, but it all depends on the kind of riding you do.....

If you go with a 136" I have the rail extension and a tunnel, also a track but not sure how well that will ship to the old continent....

thanks for the replay, I will PM you.

Moust of the riding is on trails, but some times i pull a sled to my cabin and its then I need the longer track.

is there other mods to do to the suspension? dropping i down a bit??
 
Sounds like the 136 extension without relocation is what you want.

I suggest calling Tom Hartman at www.hartmaninc.com. He can help you weigh the pros and cons of each option.

Personally I have a 144 out of an '09 Nytro XTX with the tipped up rails. This setup is awesome in the rear, but now the front needs help to match.

Also, the track you choose can make all of the difference in the world.
 
but isnt it better for the Viper to lower the suspension a bit, to get more "air" around the suspesion? Or will that make the sled harder to ride on the trails?
 
That will make it tippy on the trails, stock height is better for trails/cornering. The "air" I think you are refering to is better suited for mountain/powder riding when you want the rear of the tunnel higher over the snow.
 
My suggestion to you would be to go with extensions and a 136x1.25 Ripsaw or 136x1.5 Intense track. I have the Ripsaw on my stock 500 and it works great for trail type riding.
 
Have now extended the viper, and it looks very good. But the primary is very hot, and after some riding the drive belt loses grip.

DO i need to drop one or two teeth?
 
Post your clutching setup and ,engagement rpm and max rpm, type of belt that you are using and other engine mods that are done to the sled.With more info we can try to help you.
 
The whole sled is stock, nothing done with the clutching or the engine, I can check my rpms tomorrow
 
My engagement rpm are 4500rpm and 8600 on top.

But maybe i dont need to change the gear, I need som new clutch setup.

does anybody have a tips on the springs? and what brand of weights and arms, I have used Heel Clickers on my RX1 and a liked them.
