I pulled the powervalves out of my 99srx for a cleaning. I cant remember if the flat side of the valve faces up or down on reinstall. Did a search and came up empty handed. I think the flat side faces down but i wanted to be sure. Thanks

Thanks Whammy i just came from the shop to check if i had any answers you saved me some trouble.

Someone posted a picture a couple years ago on here. Maybe it found it's way into the Tech Pages.

my last silly question i swear lol. I ran the machine down to 900 rpms and marked the spot on the wheel and on the houseing of the servo motor as i have read to do. Now do i hold the powervalves up with my finger to the leading edge of the PORT (ie uppermost position) while i screw the threads into the powervalve servo?? Untill i feel no more slack as if anymore adjustment would cause it to rise over the top of the port?? Also as you all know the servo gos slack when you shut it down how do you all keep the wheel lined up with the mark u made at 900rpms it seems to be that the servo wheel is pulled by the spring tension from the powervalves back to the closed position?? slack being the clockwise direction. Am i missing something here?

you can spin the srvo back to your line by hand if it moves when you shut it down, it should stay and not be pulled back by the springs, takes a firm grip to spin by hand
X2. I just finnished doing both my 02/04 viper and once the engine was shut down at 900 RPM the servo stayed. I took quite a bit to move it when it moved on me while adjusting.
