Has anyone longtracked an SRX 700? How would it do in the mountains. Thinking about taking a trip out west and making it a 144". Should I just use tracksusa 121-144 extensions? whats the biggest lug track that will fit with this? Or else should I get a different suspension and mount it under the sled somehow. Replys and helpful info would be great. Also does anyone have any idea of a jetting/clutching set-up to run at 9000 feet?

talk to Turk about jetting and clutching.....

most guys reccommend just mounting a skid from a actual mtn sled like a Mountain cat.... also a streched 121" will be nothing more than a glorified trail sled, it wont be the same as a mountain sled.... Trackusa extensions will work, but the sled wont be as good as it would with a different skid.

as far as lugs, without mods, im pretty sure its either 1.25inch or 1.5...

Anybody else, feel free to correct me...

If you want to run bigger lugs, just drop down to 8 tooth drivers. That way you won't have any rubbing issues.

I used a cat skid, whal bros 8 tooth antiratchets, 151x2 camo, and Hartman tunnel extension. Works great. Best thing you can do is find a dumpster and throw your Pro Action into it. HC's lightly weighted, and a shallow finish on the helix works fine on my 780.

If you are serious about making it a 144 and leaving it that way then toss that POS yamaha rear skid in the trash and buy something that was made/designed for mountain riding. It will ride just as nice on the trail and actually let you go somewhere in snow. I'm using a Polaris skid with a holz coilover kit. Works well enough that I found another one for my wife's sled.

Jetting - the stock chart will get you close. It's a touch rich but certainly ride able for the specked elevation. Clutching - We ran one for years with DN-10's and 4.5's in each hole. If it's running right, jetted properly, and the powervalves are working right it will pull them at altitude just fine.

We have ran 9's with a 1.75 track. It's tight, but fits if you are on a budget. Otherwise go 2" and spring for 8 tooth extro's. Works like a champ. Have fun. The srx isn't a bad mountain sled with a few tweaks and some robbing of parts off real mountain sleds. :)

I ran heelclickers in my 780 last year out west with my team roller. I was pretty pleased with how it all worked.

Awesome. I might look into swapping in a 151 or 159 from a poo. what did you guys do for knowing where to drill new holes and such to mount the skid in? will definitely do 8 tooth extroverts. 2" track is a must. Did you use a edge style suspension?
