M-10 purchase advice

Just wondering if anyone has any advice to share on the purchase of a used M-10 suspension? I can buy a genuine M-10 (not a Polaris take off) with Fox Comp Zero shocks for $675. According to the owner, he bought it in 2003, but has put less than 1000 miles on it since new. It also includes the mount kit that I would need to put in my Viper. My other option is to repair my Proaction and rebuild the shocks... looking at around $250 to do that. My gut tells me to buy the M-10. Have there been any major changes to the M-10 since 2003? Do you guys think this is a fair price for it? Thanks in advance.

This is a good price for that skid since 2003 they put a air shock kit on the M10 but it will cost a bit for The kit. Buy the M10 and you will be so glad you did. sell the Noaction
 
i may be buying a m-10 today for 250.00 not sure if it has the mounting kit anyone know were to get a kit also it may be a polaris take off as he said it came off a polaris not sure
 
You will love the M10. I installed one in my VMax-4 and it was a night and day difference...it was like the sled actually had a rear suspension now ;)!

Look under "Mounting Kits" on the left. Be sure to know what year the skid is, or of it is standard or metric as the kits are different.

you'll save a few pounds. i haven't ridden an m-10 air but comparing my airwave to my buddies ohlins m-10, the airwave handles the small chatter bumps a lot better. i guessing the air bladder is more responsive to the smaller stuff than a big spring.

I want m-10 or better

Whats the best year polaris m10? or are they all the same? I want to change out my suspension as well.
 
I wouldn't waste spending $250 on a proaction suspension. If you need one, I can sell you a complete suspension, (shocks have 50 miles on them when I replaced the skid) for $150.

Thats true.

I beleive Polaris had a design agreement with M10 for the 121" skid. Polaris decided it was too expensive (or whatever reason) and chaged the design up a bit. I believe they still ride similar since they use the same falling rate shock concept.

The 136" polaris isn't even an M10 assisted design. Polaris went off on their own and I think botched it up.

Big article on this in snowtech a couple of years ago, they look the same but they are not the same. That is basically the reason that Fast and POOplaris are no longer teamed up. The article tells you what you have to do to get the Poo version to work like the real deal.
 
I believe the early Polaris m-10's were built about the same , but they changed them as was mentioned.The '02 and '03's were constructed like the Fast version, but after that I'm not sure.
