Does anyone know where in Ontario I could look for a used skid for my SRX...would a SX-R skid line up right??? Or should I go with an M-10???

:dunno:

sxr skid will bolt right in. they both use the same mount points.

pm harnessracer as i know he scrapped a 2001 srx last winter. brother has the motor in his viper.

Unless you are really tight on cash, I suggest swapping to a different skid. There are many options out there that give you a much improved ride that can be done for less than $500, some even less than $300.

Try searching the forums here.

Thats the thing...I'm only willing to drop about $500 on a new skid.......and I'm thinking just about anything would be an improvenment over the SRX skid and I know a SX-R skid would fit, and it has 11.5" of travel compared to the 8" in the SRX..

But I'm always open to suggestion...what exactly do you recomend???

Im with ding 100% on this hold out for a better skid. Did not like my 01sxr skid at all.

going from a srx skid to a sxr skid is like tradeing in your 300 pound girlfriend for a 290 pound chick. If you want something that takes the bumps great you need a different sled IMO. But if you want a cool sled keep the srx. Or even better buy another sled and keep the srx. Somehow i managed to get two past my wife.

There is info in here to put any skid you want to drop in.I would look at the ride your buddys have in there sleds[if you have rode any of them]and go from there.

Pm me for a wreckers phone # if you were looking at yam or doo.
They go for around 5 bills not as cheap as you could find over the net.

But he is in s ontario.

I'm not looking for something that takes the bumps great, I just want something, anything, that takes the bumps better than an SRX ....LoL....and something with an easy install...I don't want to be hacking, cutting or drilling at my tunnel to get something to fit....

sounds like you might want to long travle your skid i did mine last year at pioneer
it was a lot better than stock but by no means like a new sled. it brings your 8.5'' travel up to the sxr travel for under $400.00

I'd say more like 300# to 150#. Still a bit heavier than ideal (ideal being 110# neckid/soaking wet), but still able to reach around. LOL.

I swapped the SRX skid in my '01 for a Viper and am fairly happy with it. I big improvement over the SRX but nothing like an Xtra-10 or M-10.

IMHO.

Alright so I have a line on a used SX-R/V-Max skid in southern ontario. My question is do I have to extend the front shocks on my SRX so everything lines up??? And if so how much does it cost???

And will this new skid line up properly, or will I have to drill holes in the tunnel...
