How much does Driver weight affect performance in the clutching aspect.
For example I'm 200lbs full dress and my brother is 230lbs full dress, he has a Polaris 700 that I did clutching for him but it seems to work better for me than him because when I race my buddies with sled I can beat everybody but when he races them they leave him sitting still and then he blames me for giving him the slow setup, everybody that we race are all right in the same weight class, lightest 180lbs dress - heaviest dress 230 lbs.
I just want to know how would you go about fixing the clutches, what would you experts recommend changing heilx's from a 50/38 to a 50/36 or vice versa, springs, weights

take notes on your changes one thing at a time.It is all about testing.I know,I know..testing can take a lot of your time before you can get it right.I hate to say it,but 2 exact sleds, same years,motor...same set-ups...sleds both perform different from each other.Everything has to be taken into consideration.A lot of factors to.Your weight, worn out parts, bearings, belts slipping, clutches worn, sloppy skid with lots of play, weight on the skis's,carbides, jetting and the list goes on.You have to stay on top of everything, especially if the clutches start to have worn bushings. Are you toed in or toed out to much with ski alignment. How tight is your track tension also.I know it is a lot of work keeping on top of it all,but regular maintenance is a key to most of it.
I am a stickler for everything being perfect.I do to much pre-maintenance maybe. But in the long run the sled should run at its peak to.I have not been let down by my sleds as in a break down far from home.Keep your sleds tuned and up to snuff and do testing and more testing when it comes to clutching.Sometimes it may take an entire riding season to get her dialed in.Two seasons ago I was chasing my tail because the clutches wore worn on my SRX.Just couldn't seem to get the sled to perform top end. After clutch rebuilds, she is running hot again and fast.Last season it ran like a clock,I was empressed. Also the weather will effect the performance from 1 day to the next and snow conditions. You just try the best you can.

OUT OF THE HOLE, EXTRA WEIGHT HELPS ALOT. MIDRANGE AND TOP SPEED LIGHTER THE BETTER AND FASTER. NOW FINISH ANGLE ON THE HELIX CONTROL PEAK RPM. HIGHER THE FINISH ANGLE NUMBER, THE MORE LOAD ON YOUR MOTOR . THIS THAN WILL PULL RPM DOWN WHICH YOU MIGHT HAVE TO TUNE FOR WITH A LITE DRIVER. 3:16 (yammie tony)

why such a big differance between me & my brother, I can get 2-3 sled lenghts in the holeshot on our buddies but they leave him sitting still and he is heavier, same day, same condition, My brother-in-law has a formula Z 600 that was beating alot guys here, even hanging with the local F7 to about 500 ft, no matter which sled he drove he would win and he is heavier than me, thats why I ask

for every 6lbs heavier a person is it takes 1 more horsepower to make up for it, at least thats how i'm understanding it
