Building real XTC 600 -98. pics.
Hey
I have started a new project, what I promised to my self that it will be last for a while. Because our trails are so bumby I planned to mod vmax 600 -98 up this day.
I bought sled after engine failure because it is well kept yammie, and it was cheap. Engine must be sleeved and it will have finger ports made and some little "tuning".
First is skid swap to Lynx PPS suspension.

After that I will mod front suspension so close to 99 Yamaha open mod Sxr suspension that I can. Goal is to use 2" (5cm longer shocks) and get more travel. For that I must mod suspension and steering.

My brother IKE promised to add pictures to this topic.

looking good. do any searching for takeoff viper/apex skis? would really improve the handling and floatation. had a set of viper ones on my sx500r and they where a great upgrade from the stockers.

Jep those stock skis are just for measurements. I am going to use -00 pz mountainlite plastic skis because those are wider and handling is better.

I love Lynx snowmobiles, I had forgotten all about them. When I was younger I always wanted to import one just so I could be the only one in Northern Ontario with it. They were always pretty advanced.

Front of sled is now ready. I had to change bulkhead from srx because orginal was broken. Because srx bulkhead is different shock brakets must be made too. Those are from old Lynx and modded for yamaha.
I am waiting cylinders to be ready, those need cylinders tubes or sleeves i dont now the right word. Engine will be bone stock at first, heavily ported cylinders for racing will be ready during winter. I will make those myself...
when i get cylinders sled is ready for testrun...

SRX front bulkhead part with new crossmember made from aluminium (under the pipe)

FMI fuelmixture meter in the pipe.

FMI meter on the dash.
Sled is almost done. Some minor things need to be done.

and i want your hood !

LOL
Few sockets have known to fall into that sewer, but a powerful magnet on a stick helps alot.

Jep thats true. I would have put it yellow leather into seat but I didnt have it. During winter I will atleast replace white place to yellow maybe more. I will add yamaha text or logo to seat too.
If you have round red yammie logo on your computer guys post it here and I will print it to leather and put it to seat.
----------
Today is the moment of truth. I ll got head gasket from post and I am going to start the engine...hope it works ok....
