I sold my 2003 F7 snopro and have been looking into the 98-00 SRX 700's. Before the F7 I had ridden primary early 90's Polaris Indy's that were lower to the ground and rode kinda rough. The F7 sat up to high for me and I didn't like the ski lift in the corners with the extra travel suspension, it felt kind of out of control. Not to sound like a sally but the F7 actually made me kind of motion sick. I guess I would rather have a sore butt than feel like I am going to puke in my helmet. I am not much of a big air guy anymore but I do love to corner hard and accelerate out of the corners. I also love to blast across our local lake. Would I be happy with the way the SRX 700's handle???

Thats what the SRX is all about, do yourself a favour and get one that has the Ohlins shocks.

So they do corner well being that they are kind of heavy?

There not really any heavier than any other triple/triple muscle sled from that era 525-550LBS ?. And yeah, they corner like they're on rails.
If you have the option get one from 00 to 02,they have a higher output mag with a way better headlight and a few more hp than the 98/99's not that they aren't good sleds too it's just that I know from experience the difference in them.As for the ride of the SRX's you can go in a couple of directions there, you can take the shocks of the stock skid and send them to a reputable shock service center and have them valved for your weight or slap in a skid from another brand. The SC10 II and Polaris skids are quite popular for this mod.
Glad you found the website. You'll find all the info you'll ever need in here, this is Andy (GT500LC from HCS). Just keep asking ?'s in here, the guys in here are great bunch guys for giving their help. I picked up my sled from here for 1500 so I would jump on the sled your looking at if it has 3000 miles and is great shape post some pictures and these guys will tell you right away.

I have an 01 SRX and an 09 Nitro. The SRX is a complete blast in the twisties and flatter trails but can't hold a candle to the Nitro on the rougher terrain. At the end of this season I rode the SRX 1 day and the Nitro the next for about 150miles each day. After the day on the SRX I could hardly walk but I was good to go after the Nitro. I do have to admit the awesome sound of the SRX is hard to beat and even though I enjoy the plush ride of the Nitro I would not get rid of my SRX.

I hang out in the straight always..like the River out here.It is a blast to run my SRX full throttle, especially when I pass the Arctic Cats out this way. Can`t help if I live in Artic Cat country, but I bring out the Blue for them to see...lol
I just love the snap of the sled with I pin it,in deep snow I stay away.Give me a good hard packed surface and I am flying.
