just wondering what anyone would pay for a 2001 SRX 700 with only 1300km's (approx 700 miles). it's immaculant, comes with a new yamaha canvas cover, all 4 shocks(front ohlins) were rebuilt last year even thou there are no miles on it. he never rode it last year because he didn't have time. pictures look real nice, not a mark on it anywhere. i'm going to look at it Friday. ;)!

Depends on how attached to it you are. I wouldn't give over 2 for it no matter how clean it is. $1500 or so sounds about right given the current market and such things. My opinion anyway.

$1500 ?? I dont know but that sounds really cheap to me
so you say a 01 SRX with 4000 miles must not be worth $1000
I would really like to hear what people have sold SRX's for
maybe its me, because I am trying to sell my 02 Viper
But if I could buy the best built 2 stroke sled with 700 miles on it for $1500 I am going to do it! just to ride around on the lake!!

Personally I'd say if it's in the kind of shape you say it is with the low mileage you may be looking at close to $3000 in Canadian dollars.I know of one in my area that is in great shape with alot more than 1300kms on it and when I asked the guy if he'd be interested in selling it he said if he did he'd be asking around $3500.Thing is I know the sled intimately and know what all has been done to it as I did it ( Bender cold air kit,new track and studs, new skid bushings etc ) as well as how it's been ridden, not babied by any means.
I know this sounds like way more than what some guys on here have found them for and I really don't know how people find these deals but sled values here,in my part of the country anyway, just don't seem to be as low as in other areas.

I agree.....that sled should be worth 2500-3000 US all day long. It's a MAJOR steal at 1500 in my opinion.

I have a friend with a 2002 SRX 700 with 450 miles and very clean. He seems to to think it will be a collectors item and be worth alot. I keep telling him it was very competitive in its day and ran like a slot car but will not bring big dollars today. I loved the SRX back 10 years ago and felt it was the very best handling Yamaha ever made. Wow do things change.

$2500.00 to $2700.00 US ,, I'll rent it for a week to break it in for ya,, then the miles will match the price tag....

$2000 to 2300, Unless you going to keep it in your living room, and wax it every day hoping it will be a collector item, its just a 10 year old sled, although it is a great performer.

I just bought an 01 with ohlins, viper skid, with 700 on a new motor for 2200, and probably looked at every srx in the midwest that was for sale. I would say it is worth 2500 all day. I would feel good paying that, no more though.

Whatever the buyer says it is worth and the seller agrees to. In your area it should be a higher number than here in SE Michigan. $2400 - $2900 CDN seems like a good price, but some are paying higher. $1900 - $2400 USD in SE Michigan. The Ohlins and low miles might raise the price a little.

Are you buying or helping sell?

Well I just picked up a stock 02 Viper 700 with 1630 miles on it. And a 03 Mountain lite 500 with 752 miles on it. I traded my 02 660 Raptor and gave him 1550. For the pair. So I figure I gave 2250 a piece. The 500 is stock and in good great shape. The Viper has a 144 carriage and track from a Mnt Max, Along with the front end off a Mtn Max, Since it is 3 inches Narrow for going through tree's. Tracks are original and look like they have hardly been used. Considering most 02-03 Sleds have around 3200 miles or more. I would say not a bad deal. What do you think.
Thanks Jeff

i did go look at it Friday and i did buy it. i paid more them i wanted too but man this thing is like someone just took it out of the crate. there is not a mark anywhere on it. My wife had no problems me buying this instead of a newer sled after she seen it. she couldn't believe how clean it was, the track does not even look like it touched the ground. i've been looking for quite a while and the ones i looked at had a lot more miles, more wear and they wanted $3000-$4000. i paid $4400 and I feel it is worth every penny. i've ridden the newer four strokes and there is nothing that will touch these things on the trails, now when it gets rough that's a different story. my next step for next year is updating the rear suspension with maybe the new M10 air and adding reverse. it will still be cheaper then $14000 and i will have a new sled for years to come. if it's as good and reliable as my 98 with 22000km then i'm laughing. thanks everyone for your input. ;)!

If I did my math correct thats just over 4k USD. That is alot of money to me, but if you are happy, which it sounds like you are, then Congrats and ride the pants off it!

You certainly paid enough for it but like you say it's as good as having a new,all be it 9 model years old, sled. You've got the right idea for your mods, scout out what you want to improve upon and do it as you can or want to and ride it.The four bangers make great trail/touring sleds but it's pretty hard to beat these triple triples when you want to stretch em out on a lake or blast down your favorite logging roads.I see you've had an SRX in the past so you have a pretty good background on what you like and don't about the chassis and as far as the engine goes take it from me and leave it stock. Some guys can mod one up and have good luck with them but I always seem to get bit in the a$$ when I try to and the best advice I have gotten and can give is leave it alone.

Wait you said reverse? You can add reverse to the 700 VIPER? Tell me more? Like I said above I just traded for a 500 mountain lite and a 700 VIPER. Can I put reverse on both of them or just the viper? thanks Jeff

You sure can just watch the classified adds here and places like Ebay for the kits.Just remember you need the kit with HYVO gears and chain for the Viper, not sure about the 500 if that is the same or not, mabey someone else can chime in here and confirm the right kit.
