snakebit. the exchange rate is around 15% i believe, so i figured i paid approx $3800 US for it which i think is fair, but it is 9 years old which doesn't bother me one bit. i'm not the type of guy that needs the best and newest tech every year. these things are rockets on the smooth trails and i just can't seem to get use to the new 4stroke handling.
fourbarrel, this one will be all stock except the long travel and reverse. my 98 just has the heel clickers/helix and geared down one on the top and that is it. it never missed a beat in all the years i've owned it. it will now be a restoration project for me and my 14 year old son. my 98 is his sled now, besides i would never get anything for it because of the miles so he might as well get the use out of it.
thanks again for all of your input guys. i will be back to get some more ideas/help for this sled, especially when i start tearing into it to add the reverse.

arfrce said:Well I just picked up a stock 02 Viper 700 with 1630 miles on it. And a 03 Mountain lite 500 with 752 miles on it. I traded my 02 660 Raptor and gave him 1550. For the pair. So I figure I gave 2250 a piece. The 500 is stock and in good great shape. The Viper has a 144 carriage and track from a Mnt Max, Along with the front end off a Mtn Max, Since it is 3 inches Narrow for going through tree's. Tracks are original and look like they have hardly been used. Considering most 02-03 Sleds have around 3200 miles or more. I would say not a bad deal. What do you think.
Thanks Jeff
I dont think its a bad deal, the Mountain lite is probably an 01 bought in 03, 01 was the last year for them. Both sleds are super reliable, my Mountain Lite has just over 12000kms without being touched, but I might do the rings soon maybe. You can also put reverse on both sleds, the chain cases are the same for all pro-action sleds. Not sure what you need to put rev on it b/c I bought mine with reverse.
I think that's a fair price! These sleds were almost 12000 NEW!!!!! The guy that said 1500, wow.....you guys are way low. I paid 3500 last year for an 02 with viper rear and ohlins, very clean, new track with 8500kms and I am happy! I guess maybe they hold there value here in ontario.

that's in range for here in maine, anywhere from 1200-2500 depending on condition, that's actual selling prices not asking prices, the ones holding out for more just keep holding

Hey As long as your happy with the sale it doesn't matter what you paid.

you should be able to find some helpful info on the reverse installation in the tech section and if you do a search on here there is a lot of good info to help you out.
good luck
