we wanted to move the sled to different lovcation but when we tried to start it we had no luck..we used starting fluid and it started right-up a few times no problem but we couldnt keep it running..i drained the gas after last winter and we put in a little new gas.it seems like the engine isnt getting any gas..what should i check and how hard is it to take the tank off to look and see if maybe something is plugging the fuel line or something

keep pullin, just kiddin, i wouldnt use starting fluid to start with, i would pour alittle gas down the cylinders instead, it probably will take awhile to work the fuel into the carbs, did you clean the carbs? cleaning the carbs is like a ritual i gotta do every fall and than it will run good. it doesnt seem to matter if i put stabil in the fuel or drain it i still have to clean the carbs.

You lost your prime by draining the gas...I will never drain the fuel ever again. I did this last year & it took forever to start. I kept pulling the plugs & used an oil mixer syringe to add a shot of gass each time. Crack a beer & turn on the tunes cuz it's gonna be a while...but you'll eventually get it.

You can clean the carbs too, but my $$ is on the lack of fuel pressure built up in the line.

i think fro is spot on, like the others said i'd use gas not ether, i'd just add to that i prefer mixed not straight gas

Fro and staggs65 are correct!
I drained the gas out and ran the engine dry two years in a row thinking I was doing the right thing. Took me over a day to get it running! I will NEVER drain all of the gas out! As long as you have a bit of stablized gas in there to keep the prime, top it up with good fresh high octance gas in the fall and you'll get it going much easier!

Pull your clutch belt off and turn the primary by hand to help prime it, a lot easier than pulling on it a million times.

A little trick i learned, if you got the air box off, get some gas down the cyls. and once it starts get your hands down on the carb boots and choke off the carbs, having two people do that is better so you have all three covered, its a solid method of choking the motor of air and force feeding gas into empty carbs, thats what we did after we cleaned mine and after we got gas down in the cyls and it fired up it stayed running with that technique.

heres what i do, put enough fuel in tank, pinch vent line, take off cap and press mouth on tank opening and blew you can watch the fuel flow to carbs with air box off this has always worked for me just my 2cents (make sure fuel valve is on if equipt) lol
