did they have piggyback ohlins for vipers? going to change skid on my srx and want to put viper shocks on front as well, i always see srx ohlins on ebay, so i could get get srx ones if pioneer or someone can long travel the srx ones?

Some thoughts

I have the Ohlins on my Viper and they are plush but in my opinion they are over rated. Properly sprung and valved KYB's will work just as well. The other problem you have in putting them on an SRX is the viper shocks have the wrong mount on the top. Bruce at Pioneer sells a long travel KYB shock for the SRX that work really well but I think he gets $400 or so. There was a guy on here parting out an SRX that I built that had these shocks from Pioneer. His name is Brett and his name on here is EXPERTXVIPER. See if he still has the shocks for sale. Here's a photo & good luck.

I agree somewhat with Matt. I like having the ability to adjust for conditions. I put GYTR clickers on my Attak and they are just as good as the Ohlins. BUT, they will need a rebuild WAY before the Ohlins. With the clickers, I can soften everything up when boondocking or when the trails are smooth. I can also stiffen them enought that even I can't hardly bottom them. Pick your poison LOL! My 01 Venture has Viper shocks front and rear. Larry at North Country Yamaha in Tomahawk WI. revalved them and they are SMOOOOTH!
Best of luck with whatever you choose!

thanks guys, i know the top brackets are different, but being a metal worker i can fab my own easily, but wasn't sure of all my options, i'm thinking maybe the long travel kybs from pioneer are probably the way i'll go, now i just have to make up my mind on what skid i'm going to use

Looks like an expert skid. Ad Boivin or something like that makes them.

I'm running the stock vipers on my srx front. Works great for how I ride the sled.

looks like an expert x I could be wrong thou

Ryan beat me to it lol

I went a little diffrent rout just cause its what i had and saved money. Ive got stock length ohlins for srx with aftermarket shock mounts off an ebay store. don't do anything for travel but gives about 1.5 inches of clearance. That alone helped alot because before i was bottoming out bellypan protector way before useing up all of my travel in the shock. also made a good match with the viper rear skid i had. viper rear with stock front was fun but hard to get enough ski pressure to corner at low speeds, liked to pick the ski,s if any throttle at all was involved.
