ive been looking into trading my sxr700 for a sled with reverse.i dont rteally want to since i love the sled but i have a super tight storage spot and its such a hassle getting it in and out along with the fact that its not the best for taking the kids for rides on with the not so forgiving supensions they come with.got an offer for a 2002 vmax , vx600er with reverse and electric start and was wondering if anyone know anything about this sled or where i might find some reviews and info on it..thanx mark
Do you have an SXr 700 now or a SRX 700?
If you have the SXr, the VMAX will ride a little softer, but it is the same basic skid.
If you have the SRX, the softness will be more noticeable, as the travel increases.
The drop in power is quite noticeable from the SXr 700, and very significant from a SRX 700.
The VMAX 600 was a very good sled with a solid motor. Taken care of, these sleds can last a long time. The downside is that the skid has a night and day ride difference compared to newer skids. You can easily swap the skid yourself for less than $500, if you are mechanical and have the tools and work area. However, the newer sleds have other improvements to consider if your budget allows. You can likely sell the SRX (if that is what you have) for quite a bit more than you could the VMAX. If you can add a couple thousand to that you can have a much newer sled.

If you have a sxr, why don't you just install reverse on it?
You can custom valve the shocks, but that might be a little pricey but it will work.

The lady friend had one. She loved it. They got gas bag shocks if my memory right. They have a tall windshield, reverse and electric start. I sold it when she had the little one and she's been on my case ever since. I even bought an sx and long traveled the front and put a cat skid in the rear and she still likes the deluxe better. I think she liked doing the reverse donuts.

How about a come-a-long and some dollys to back it in ;>)
...and an SXR/Viper rear skid. Problem solved and you're still going fast.
