I recently had the reeds off my sled for inspection, just some pre-season stuff... Now the gaskets that were on there were paper... Ripped one, didnt think it was a big deal by any means... Went to the dealer and they gave me metal replacement ones? Now I have v-force reeds but I dont know if that makes a difference or not? Just wondering before I go to all the trouble of putting it back together if the metal ones will be alright? Thanks in advance for any help
Should be fine, just be sure to tighten up the screws good so it doesn't suck air. I use the metal ones too and haven't had any trouble.
Be careful when tightening the reed block bolts, make sure to get the correct torque spec as it is not hard to strip one,ask me how I know.If your worried about air leaking by the metal gasket just use a light film of silicon and you should be good.

ya I had to put heli-coils in all all the bolt holes on the jugs for the reeds, had the dealership install the v-force reeds for me years ago, then when i rebuilt i found a mess, stripped holes, was not impressed at all... Thats good though, just wanted to double check before i started bolting it back together
Thanks for the help guys
