Gents;

Last year I put my 2001 SRX 700 through the ice and a few months later I dropped a cylinder. Took a look at it and it chewed a big chunk out of the wall so need to replace the whole thing, don't imagine it's something I can re-sleeve.

Thinking of picking up a used cylinder/piston off flea-bay - What years are compatible? I know there have been some changes to this sled over the year..

Any help is appreciated,

Ryan

prefix for '98-'99 700srx cylinders is 8dn-00. also, don't just do the top end....better look into the bottom end as well. you know where those chunks of the cylinder went, don't you? they didn't all exit the pipe.....some of it is still sitting downstairs. would hate to see you put a new cylinder on it, only for it to last 20 miles. also, you can't run a '98-'99 cylinder w/the other 2 '01 cylinders. they must all be the same, but just get a good used '01 cylinder, to replace your bad one. also, check the classifieds on here, as there are a few members that have some cylinders for sale. a couple that i know of are ViperLover and ViperKing.

Thanks alot for the quick responses fellow.

One other question - There's a full motor on fleabay - asking $1200 USD (it's out in sask) and another $200 to ship it here. Wondering if that might be the better bet in the end. Any comments on price?

Not mechanically inclined really, but I understand most of it - I just bribe mechanically inclined friends with beer to do the work for me. ;)

1400 is too much to stick into a used motor, if you could get it for about 1000 that would be more reasonable, like stated above by mopar i do have some cylinders, in fact i have the entire engine its just disassembled, ill send you a cylinder and piston for $200 with free shipping if you want, let me know thanks

Have power valve as well? Don't think I saw it on your list .... Looks like I chewed the cable, end came apart.
