I purchased a rear heat exchanger for my '02 Viper from someone on this site, on the recommendations of several posters. I overheated all season after installing an ice ripper track. I was wondering if anyone could direct me to some directions on how to install this exchanger? Thanks

remove the crossover tube in the rear of your tunnel and replace it with the cooler. I have an 04 viper S with the cooler and a 1.25 ice ripper and have never had cooling problems. My dad has an 02 viper with a 1.25 Ripsaw and under some conditions very rarely has had the temp light come on. I would bet it was more the conditions you were in than the track. Also - is your flap fully in tact? You need to keep the snow dust in there!

Good luck with the install.

Thanks. A couple of the times I had overheating problems last year, The conditions were ideal. Also, I never had ANY problems before installing the new track. I was wondering if there is a how-to on installing these coolers. I have come across a couple other how-to tutorials on this site, and they have been VERY helpful.

1) Remove rear coolant hose covers and seat.

2)Use 2 peices of wood and a camp on each side to squeeze the coolant hoses.

3)Lift back of sled 2 feet off the ground

4) Remove old coolant tube

5) Remove rear flap

6) make a template of the holes on the new cooler. There will be 2 templates one for the rear by the rear flap and one for the top(mak sure you mark where to drill a hole for the bleed screw on the top)

7) drill holes matched to the template

8) rivit in the new cooler.

9) rivit on the flap

10) attach hoses and bleed coolant system

11) replace seat and covers.
