heads on a viper

was looking at HIGH PERFORMANCE HEAD is it worth on a viper or not i already got pipes and clutches kits in it just looking of a little more
 
what "HIGH PERFORMANCE HEAD" were you looking at? aftermarket heads do help out vipers. you get to even out the compression ratio and better cooling. also, try to use punctuation in your posts, as it will be easier for us to decifer what you're trying to ask/say.
 
I understood perfect, hey and English is not my first language....

Little more on the viper (or any sled) after getting the pipes and clutch dialed in correctly, I will say port it.
 
Ryan - Heads are an excellent HP increase. Careful planning is a must. If you are trail riding you cannot go below 24cc head chamber without increased octane fuel. If you can purchase race fuel and will dedicate yourself to never run premium you could increase compression and build more power. Are you running the Yamaha stock head? That head is fairly high compression already and has different chamber sizes. Most guys send that head out to be re-cut to 24cc or 25cc all three chambers the same. If you are running the stock head with regular fuel you are asking for trouble. Heat is the enemy with mod-Viper engines so the SRX or Mega Power heads will flow more coolant. Do a search and read up. A lot has been written here on TY about this topic.
 
I use the Peak Performance head. Mine was from MPI, but I know Bender markets it also. I also use the Opticool head gasket (but they say you don't have to....)

I know it evens out cooling for each cylinder and it raises the compression (I have 24 cc domes at about 1000 feet ro so above sea level....). I've heard it also may give a slight HP bump, but I don't know that.

I've heard these are a "must" unless you send out your OEM head to be re-cut on the Viper if you install triple pipes.

I bought a 03 MTN Viper about a month ago, it was already set-up with speedwerx triple pipes and head, v-force 3's, ported and a Hauck roller clutch.... I don't think speedwerx makes these anymore but if you already have the pipes and clutching, then adding a head to the mix would set it up good. Also could use some reeds and possibly a port job to really make it scream.
 
yeah, the speedwerx head works well, but the flatlander domes they give you are a little conservative. i'm in the works of making some tighter custom domes. oh yeah, speedwerx discontinued that head.
