How much of a headache will it be to install a 03 viper engine in a 98 srx chassis? And will a set of bender triples from the 98 srx work on the 03 viper engine??

i think the engine itself is a bolt-in but i remember some posts on the pipes you have to use the srx manifolds and maybe some other changes(a little fuzzy on the details) someone else will surely chime in and tell you the rest

My concerns are with the cdi and related electrical, the viper engine has a tps and tors mounted on the carbs and the srx has only the tors. Im not sure about timing curves either. Aswell it would appear the srx manifolds from the bender pipes are narrower. Figured id throw this out there as any insight is a plus. So thankyou staggs

Motor will bolt in. Cdi's are different, 2001 srx and viper cdi are interchangeable but @ 8600rpm viper has 8degree timming adavance due to single pipe where the srx has a 4 degree due to the tripple pipes. ehaust ports are different, srx are round viper as oval, you would ghave to biuld exhaust manifolds to use the srx pipes. Vioper sdtator is 300watt while the older srx's (pre2000) are not 300 watt. Overcome all this and it will work.
I have a 2001 srx with viper cylinders in my single piped viper. Runs good but I used the viper cdi and stator, and the single exhaust.

What Bender pipes do you have on that '98? Are they the 835 pipes?

Yes they are the 835 pipes. Thank you all for all your info. I swapped out all the electronics today so the wiring harness from the viper is in the srx is as the stator and related components.
