I have to change the slides on my SRX and my VMAX. Some people like to fight with the slides and push them through the window. I prefer to take the skid out( Get to give it a good visual). I am an old cat man. Taking the skid out a cat is easy. I have never taken the skid out a Yamaha. I think I read somewhere in SnowTech that you must loosen the bolts on the bottom of the control rod( not the one that holds it to the rail ). This will take the tension off so you are not fighting the spring. Any suggestions?
That trick is usually for putting the skid back in, but it wouldn't hurt for removing I spose.

You do that and your on your way - it's not bad at all. Take them all the wayout - it does make it a little esier to get the skid out, too.

Its very easy loosen bolts flip sled on its side pull out bolts and and it wiggles out fairly easy. Its a good idea to pull it out every year and inspect, grease and replace all bearings.
