hi im looking a 2003 Viper 700 w/o electric start and reverse with 1900 miles on it. Theres some corrosion on the motor probably from sitting but looks like it can be cleaned up. Tiny rip in the seat the size of a dime and some rust on the a-arms and trailing arms. The guy wants 2700 dollars, but said he would take 2500. Sound like a decent deal????

2003 viper....

offer him 1500 dollars.....you will have a budget for the rust on the inside of the engine also......

Do a compression test. Check the rear suspension for cracks along the welds on the w arm. If he told you he'd take $2500 right away, then I'd definitely cut him down more. Today's economy is hurting many, and there's plenty of used sleds with great prices out there. It's a buyers market, so it's to your advantage to look around and find the best deals. If he really wants the money, he'll go lower.

Not a bad deal if all is OK,,, check compression, and suspension components and that it has been stored properly.... Will be a nice upgrade from your 540.... Nice sleds,,, got 9000 miles on mine.....

Thanks for your replies. I'm going to go take another look at the sled this weekend and I have another Viper to look at too, so i'll compare.

paid 2800.00 if i remember right a few months ago for my wifes 04 viper er only a couple hundred miles and its studed. only thing im going to have to do is install a plug for the heated windshield. sled is mint. hold out a bit.

forgot to add i have to buy a new battery as well. and time spent cleaning the carbs changeing chaincase oil etc....
