03 viper mountain, it seems that after putting bar riser on it uses oil like a bandit, like my ultra did, is there an adjustment screw for oil? is it possible i pulled the oil adjustment out via throttle cable assemby with adding bar riser?

yeah, there is adjustment for the oil pump. there are 2 cables that come off the throttle lever. one is for the throttle cable to the carbs and the other is the cable that goes to the oil pump. follow the cables and there should be a section in the oil pump cable, by the carbs, that have a rubber cap thing on the cable....pull that back and your adjuster will be under there and you can also, check/measure the current freeplay in the cable there. set freeplay to .750". i think there is a more detailed writeup on this procedure in the tech area or something.

Here is what happened to me when I added a 2 inch rise to my SRX. As I installed the higher riser block, I pulled the two cables apart unknowingly, at the adjustment link (as described by mopar1rules), and the cables ends were held apart due to some binding of the mechanism and rubber boot. I ran it this way and noticed the big oil usage, and worse yet, I was really sticking my powervalves and I think they caused a cable pull through due to the stress of pulling the gummed up valves.

Look at this and I bet you will find it.

You may need to change both cables to longer one's. They are available because I had to increase my cable length when I added a block back several years ago. Sorry don't remember where I got them.

that's what i forgot to say in my 1st post, was that after he installed the riser, he most likely has the oil pump cable pulled out by the adjuster, so its going to pump like crazy.

Thanks that is what i was thinking it might be, I shortened the riser block about .3 inches hoping the will fixer up, and i'll look at that oil adjustment.
