I currently have three different skids out of sleds sitting on the shop floor and thought I should would weigh them and post the results:

1. 121" 2002 Yamaha ProAction Viper Skid - 69 lbs
2. 121" 1998 FAST M-10 (older "metric" version) with torque arms and Fox shocks - 64 lbs
3. 121" 2002 FAST M-10 (newer "standard" version) with torque arms and Fox shocks - 62 lbs

I was surprised that the M-10 weighed as much as it does... FAST claims that they weigh as little as 54 pounds. I find it hard to belive that my scale is off by 8 to 10 pounds!

Yup. My srx skid with added wheels, and 8" idlers in the rear weighs in at 74 lbs. My proline weighs 28lbs, but it would be a bitch in the bumps....

Maybe it is worth upgrading to the air shocks next time I need to have the standard ones rebuilt. Aside from the weight savings, is the ride much better or is it pretty hard to tell a difference?
