Is there a mod to remove the clumsy Yamaha parking brake assembly on my 99' SRX? I know other sleds use a lock on the regular brake instead. Why would Yamaha choose to have another completely seperate system? It was a real bitch to get off when changing my skid and I am mad at it and don't want to put it back. Pic's would be great too. Thanks

shoot i just cut mine off no need for it just strap it down.
mountain performance as a lever that as a lock on it so u can get ready of that dam thing works great

There is another member on the site who fabricated a brake lock similar to what you see on other sleds. I am guessing Yamaha stayed away from this system as it has the potential to rupture brake lines if you set the parking brake when it is really cold and then the the temp increases rapidly. Easiest way is to carry a rubber band to wrap around the brake lever!
I was wondering the same thing, if you figure something out I would like to make a locking mechanism and remove everything.
Pioneer perf has one and it works great
