ya sure its not the TORS,check the throttle cable tension. Maybe??

I'm with crazykid, bet you probably have the throttle cable set to tight. This causes the TORS to kick in. There must be slack in the cable. SOC
this bog is starting to piss me off!!! There was nothing wrong with it before I did the carbs n powervalves, should have left alone LOL. I have tried the TORS disconnected and still have a bog on take off, all day I been taking the carb rack off and making adjustments to the fuel screws and still get the bog, have slack in the throttle cable. it is idleing just fine at 1800 rpms them when you the throttle there is a bog from 4000 rpm to 7000 then takes off like there nothing wrong
When do the powervalves kick in or are they on all the time would they possibly be out of adjustment. this is my first time doing them so they could be out a little

get some remote fuel screw adjusters..that way you don't have to keep taking the carbs off to turn the 3 screws every timer.I did and it was worth it in time spent.
as for the bog...better check your carbs again.Maybe you missed something.Something sounds plugged.
It sure is fun removing the carbs over and over again eh!!!!! I'd be pissed.

Suonds more what bluemonster1 said. Make sure you run a small wire through the piolts and mains. Last carb clean i did same thing happened. I must have loosened up some more crud during cleaning.

When I flip the throttle it kinda hangs up at about 3000 rpms and then settle again with a flip of the choke at 1800-1900 rpm
can I tell by the plugs where the problem is such as hitting the kill switch at the time of the bog or would this harm the sled, I don't want to blow up the sled before winter lol

sure sign of a lean condition on the low end. double check the cleanliness of the pilot jets and pilot circuit. what were your fuel screws at before tearing the carbs down for cleaning? also, check for airleaks on the rubber intake boots.

I didn't even count how many turns they were because I read up the night before on cleaning and they were supposed to be at 1 1/8-1 1/4 turns so thats what I did. I'll be back at it tommorow. I just want it back to were it was a couple nights ago she was ripping pretty dam good, now it's like my smile went from up to tripping on my bottom lip LOL.

yeah, my buddies '00 srx liked 1-1/2 turns to 1-3/4 turns too. i think after his 15,000 miles on that sled, that the slides are wearing some, causing some extra air to leak past and around the slide, causing the need for a little richer mixture w/the fuel screws.
Since this Bog appeared after you did your maintenance it would indicate you have "altered " something.
I would suggest you back right up to the start:
-check power valve adjustment/movement
-are the power valves in upside down?
-did you change the float setting?
-base line the jetting in the sled...the 1 1/4-1 1/2 fuel screw settings are only relavent to a stock pilot jet, maybe the previous owner changed them.
-I would suggest you ensure you have the stock jetting in all areas
-check for air leaks...I have had leaks at the reed cages to engine/boot in the past.
Had you not been working on it prior to the "Bog" appearing I would say put a new Yamaha belt on it as well as ensuring the engine/clutches are properly alligned. You might want to try this first as its quick + easy.
As Mopar1 said...put adjustable fuel screws on it. I have them on all my flatslide Yamahas all 17 carbs!!!! I have "Benders" on some + "Northern Lites" on the rest but I don't know if anyone supplies them anymore.

I think I found the problem the BELT. the sled came with 2 ultimax 3 belts and the good one is now no good, so I tried the old burnt belt to see if it will make a differance and guess what no bog but it does jerk because of the belt being burnt. NOW which belt to get?

For best performance, stick with the OEM Yamaha belt...they are the most durable + consistant. The premium after market belts are a little softer, not bad for drag racing + for normal high perf[SRX style] riding they are only OK... they just don't last like the the OEM belt.

OEM all the way.Been thru the ultimax thingie and paid the price.Belt wasn't very old(mileage wise) and she exploded on me.Took out my speedo cable and almost yanked the speedo from the dash. That was a costly day for me.
