just been reading various threads throughout the forum .
and what seems to be a lot of issues with running to lean or to rich and advise is given .... to adjust the fuel screw in or out ...
well its got me thinking ...not that i have any problems or anything but were the hell are these fuel screws located .if I ever wanted to check mine ..
or do I even have any on my 96 V MAX 600 XT.

Well....How about that ...thanks chief ...
now I feel like tinkering ...probably a good idea since i've just done a compleate top end rebuild .and never cleaned the carbs ever ...at the very lease I should do a good cleaning ...
dont want to blow up my fresh rebuild or have a meltdown ...
thats a cute kid you got there (avtar) LOL.

climate carbs

??? Is that the system with the TPS and other electronics? I would think they would be the same but I've never actually seen one or looked at the parts fiche. What year and model and I'll see if I can find something.

Temperature compensating I believe is what it says on the engine.

Took off carbs. all jets are stock and nice and clean .
fuel screws were clean ,holes were clean . (must be the shell V Power)
but were not even.
left side was 1 and 1/2 turns, and right was 2 turns .........HHHHuuuuuummmmmm.
I wonder if that had somthing to due with the fact that before I did the top end rebuild right side had 120 psi and the left side had 80 psi and very rough condition.
glad I checked and cleaned and reset both to 2 full turns .....
Looks like I may have dodged a bullet on this one ...
........................................................................
cant really tell if the floats are set correctley

I thought I read last year that it was 1-1/2 turns out. But then again that may have been for my Venture. I will have to check it all out again this fall. Its quite windy and very cool with the hint of Winter in the air.

The fuel screw circuit is really only idle to 1/4 throttle max. It's unlikely to cause you serious burn down type issues, mostly idling and bogging off the bottom issues.

Cleaning these.

Hi for the temperature compensating carbs make sure you clean the jets located inside the overflow lines these usually plug and can cause your jetting to be off.

How to get a them? Maybe that is affecting my top speed with gas overflow not closing properly when its all need to push me along.

This should have been cleaned by the dealer when I bought this used three years ago now. I don't know if anyone uses carb cleaner in the gas on these or not. EG Lucas or such.
