i'm partial to heavy hitter weights but that's just me, as far as a "kit" i really feel there isn't really a one size fits all kit, you need to dial in to get your rpms at their optimum, if you post where your at now the clutch guys will get you close from there, 54/44 is a popular helix for srx, i've got a 54/46 for sale if interested

oh yeah 01 mains were pretty good stock, i like the 00 stock pilots better though, unless your saying 30 below zero not 30 to 0

yeah my sled is over reving and its stock i checked the clutches and cleaned them still does it. Whats the stock helix for the 2001? i want more midrange..
This site has a pretty good search button. You will find every possible srx clutch setup and what people like and didn't like about them. Or check the tech pages as there are some pretty good setups listed in the clutching section and in the user setups.
Same thing with jetting questions. These things haven't been made for 8 yrs now. It's all been done and tried, you just need to sift through the info here to find what you are looking for.

Stock helix was a straight 47 degree. Get yourself into a 51/43 or 53/43, wrap it at 80. Run 4.5 gram rivets in both holes in your stock weights, and a WWW. That'll be fine for the lakes and trails.
I am not saying you should run this, but I used to run 146.3, 146.3, 147.5 on the mains, and 45 pilots. You can do what you want. They are a bit rich from the factory, and need a bit more fuel down low.

RYAN GAVE YA A NICE ALL AROUND CLUTCH KIT TO GO WITH. THAT WILL WORK NICE. NOW MY ADVISE. I ALSO LIVE IN NY. I WOULD NOT JET A SRX DOWN. NOT EVEN ALITTLE. GAS HERE IN WESTERN NY IS CRAP LET ALONE WHERE YOU ARE. BE CAREFUL. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Tony is right.......which is why it wasn't a recommendation........just a mention as to what I used to run, and that was a very long time ago since I haven't run a 700 in a long time. Gas blows now.
I'd still run 45 pilots though, with whatever mains you decide on.

That clutch setup will be a huge improvement for you. The F7 is still a tough race...

PAT, NOT ONLY MINE BUT THERE ARE ALOT OF GOOD SRX CLUTCH SET-UPS THERE ON THAT PAGE. 8BU-00, 8DN-20, 8BU-10 etc. LIKE I POSTED, THE SET-UP RYAN POSTED IS THE BEST ALL AROUND SET-UP ESPECIALLY FOR TOP END RACING AND THAN GETTING OFF LAKE AND CONTINUEING TO RIDE. MY SET-UP IS A GREAT DRAG RACE SET-UP, BUT ITS VERY AGGRESIVE. ONE THING I MIGHT ADD , JUST A CLUTCH SET-UP MIGHT NOT BE ENOUGH AGAINST A FAST F CAT. I DON,T HAVE ANYTHING I CAN SELL. BUT OF CORSE BENDER, HAUCK, etc. dose. MY SET-UP WILL DEFFINEITLY HELP YA. 3:16 (yammie tony)

i think that might of been more for the 98-99s, not sure about the 00-02s, someone more knowledgable about it will surely chime in

cheap porting? Is that an oxymoron?
Lots of people on here have had cylinders ported. Look for mrviper700, he is currently porting my parts right now.
Trail Porting is on the to do list for next year. See how I make out in the stock class this winters Snow/Ice Drag season.
I haven't seen Mrviper on here for awhile.
Like everyone has stated the 2 best bang for your buck mod would be to clutch your sled and swap suspensions for an edge or M-10,

Any one try the bender clutch kits how are they??i saw that today it is only for the 1998 and 1999.. thats to bad my buddy are always telling me about it.. he siad it was like cheap porting because it brings up the port alittle but anyways i got a set of the bender tranver rods i didnt put them in yet, i had it in my old sxr what a huge difference lol wheelie contest? lmao

had a bender clutch kit on my old '99 srx 700 and it sucked. IMO, stay away from bender kits. just my .02 cents.
