If I am not mistaken the original question was, how well do you think the engines will run with the head gasket mod with the poor quality of fuel now available? I am really not sure what will happen this winter, we sure had alot of problems last year with the ethonal fuel and such. both of my red head sleds are modified with milled heads. This year I am running Sta Bil for ethonal in all of the fuel. I lost my ability to buy straight gas this year.
yea i did the gasket mod on my 97 700 and used permatex high tack to spray the single layer that i reinstalled never had any problems w/ it. now at that same time i also did the reed stopper mod and installed power inc end dumps so i could not say how much of a diff. the gasket mod did alone but i did run vp c-12 at first until i was sure on my jetting then premium pump fuel only. no problems sold the sled 3 months ago and i stressed the point of running premium fuel only to the new owner hope he was lisnin ! i highly recomend those three mods for the 700 red

I always put the sticker off a srx that says to use premium gas only on the right side of the hood that way if i let someone use they know what to use also it look official like it came from the factory that way. there are product for weak fuel, i always carry some just in case of bad gas sea- foam

I would not count on it. It will not change the octane.
