Im trying to find out what the differences are between the 1992 and 1994 VMAX-4's as far as engine's. Can I bolt a 92 engine in a 94 chassis and go or what? What parts are the same between the two or interchangeable? If you don't know the answers don't step up and look a fool. If you have done the swap or actually know what your talking about please help??? If you herd it from a guy that herd it from another guy thats dead now.......... don't bother!

92 should fit right in. has about 10 hp less than the 94 engine.
both 750's, but the 94 was tuned differently.

I agree with the above!! ;)!

And if ya want real knowledge, go to this website & post the same question.

http://www.vmax4.com/

It is where a number of Vmax-4 owners like my self hang out & share tech tips & just about any info you could ever need for the mighty Vmax 4.

There may be a few other subtle differences from the 92 to the 94 motor but,
I do not think they are huge. I know the 92's had some bearing issues of some sort..but...so ya dont call me a dumb ***, :dunno:
I will leave that info to the "real mechanics" in the "know" over at Vmax 4.

I myself have only done a frame up on my 94 & converted the driveline to 95 clutching, 04 RX-1 skid, etc & added quad pipes. Have not had to open the motor etc.

Good luck with the project.

Rob

the motor is the same 92-93 there was over 100 changes done but they where all small 93-94 no changes on motor if you what to know of all the changes i think i still have all the information i could email it to you

I know a guy that thought he knew a guy that ... man I forgot what I was talking about.... sure goat ahead..... they will come........bababbaba...... Cripes

We have a 92, two 93's and a 95. One of the 93's is my old girl with 11000 k on it. It beats the other. The 92 is long tracked with 1 1/8 track and is 'close' to my trusty old steed. Then there's the 95 and well, thats another story on its own, she be bad! The others don't catch it.

But in answer to your question, the motor will physically interchange without any major issues, What you will have to watch for is wiring. They moved around certain things over the years, so the wiring harness may be different between 92 and 93/94. I have swapped a 93 to a 93, and have done major surgery on a 92, and that is what I recall seeing, was a difference in wiring. Good luck, great sleds. G.
