I don't have a belt tensioner. Is it possble for me still to get the old slides off and the new ones one? Otherwise, maybe I could count the turns for the bigger bolts in the back to loosen/tighten track.
Also, do any of you use thread locker on the screws for slides?
Thanks,
Matt

Take srew driver and mark the amount of thread on the bolt with tape. As long as your track is setup right. Use #3 screw driver (the one on the sock works good) to take out the screw. Do NOT strip the screw. Make sure it fits. I use a long screw driver only at the front and pound it down through the track hole. When you get 6" out use a pair of vise grips and hit the sold part of the vise grips with a hammer and it will slide out. Spray WD40 on the slides, this will help.
This has worked for me several times.

I used to hang a gallon jug of antifreeze or windshield fluid (about 8Lbs/Gal) on each side of the track from the track clips using a coat hanger cut and bent into hooks. That's around 15-16 Lbs. Now I loosen it till it starts racheting and tighten it back up a turn, but you need to do that on the snow.
