I was wondering if anyone knows if this would work. They are different part #'s from Yamaha. If not, does anyone have a good viper crank?
Thanks

I believe they have a different stroke!
Different designs. WILL NOT work.
I'm almost positive it will not work. Could be wrong though.
went through this last winter for my brother. sxr crank will not work in a viper. a 2000-2002 srx crank will work. loose some throttle responsivenedd but has a boat load more torque. he can wheelie his sled now and he could not before.

I believe you went over that with me last year! I was trying to put a viper crank in 98 srx. Had to chance pto bearing!
yup. the 98-99 srx have a different pto bearing set-up than the 2000+ power valve tripples. we where having a problem finding one for a 02 viper but there where lots last winter from the 98/99 srx's out there.
there is a place in wisconsin you can get rebuilt cranks for under $400.00 i think it is called midwest crank i have the # and address somewhere
