Hey I have off today and I was thinking about making my own 3 piece sled dolly. I was wondering if any of you guys build there own? I figured I would just make them on out wood and throw some decent size casters on the bottom with some rubber on top or even carpet. ANy ideas or thoughts?

I did that once and then I found that my local Harbor Freight store sells the perfect size little 4 wheel dollies and just bought 3 of them.
Tractor supply has them for like 9 bucks each.
cosco got those sleds dollies for almost nothing 30$ for 3 strong one ...
TSC is expensive, went there looking for casters and wow I got them form where I work (Fastenal) for 20 I plaid like 1.20 a piece for 3" swivels

I made some once. Although it certainly is fun making something yourself, I think it would have cheaper if I would have bought them from Harbor Freight or Mills Fleet Farm.
Anyway, I built the one for the track out of 12" piece of 1/2 plywood and the ones for the skis were 8 or 9" 1/2 with 2 strips of wood the length of the piece so there was a groove down the middle for the carbides and I put one locking caster on each of the ski carts. I used 1 1/2" casters.

These are the ones I saw at my local TSC but they were 8.99 at the local store.
