I am sure this has been asked before, but can someone refresh my memory...
I have a 2001 Srx. I have 11.5 inch center and rear shocks from a 2004 viper s. I have ordered limiter straps for a viper long travel.
my question is this, what do I need to do to my weight transfer rods? to make this a long travel set-up to I have to replace the entire transfer rod? If so does anyone have a set from a viper skid laying around?

I believe all you will need are the viper plastic spacers which are thinner...

JeepJimmy--I have not done anything in the front yet. I found some front shock mounts on ebay to raise the front, havent bought them yet, they claim 1.25" higher in the front, what kind of gain would i get from switching the stock shock mounts side/side? outside of that, the only other mod in the front is a set of dooly carbides.
I have the yamaha dealer set me up with the proaction suspension manual, and they list 3 different control rods, i just need to figure out which was used for the viper.
any other advice for 11.5" long travel suspension on a proaction skid?

im in the same situation. i have a complete set of Viper shocks. but installing them in the front is a roadblock. been trying to get ahold of BETHEVIPER. he made upper shock mounts that you could use them on the srx. on the rear i believe you need longer upper transfer rods. im learning myself.

know that feeling all to well. the owners manual is worthless lol. finally got my dealer to print me a copy of that suspension tuning manual, has all the specs, part numbers, optional springs, everything you could ever dream of about the suspension, just trying to decipher it all is the interesting part, i am an a.s.e. master auto mechanic, and i still have a hard time with yamaha manuals. when i bought the sled 3 years ago i knew nothing except the dealer said it was wicked fast. suspension set up has been a royal pain up until I found the resources on this forum. what would we ever do without the internet? lol.

I used to write diagnostics and have to say the Yamaha manuals leave a bit to be desired.
I have not matched the Viper vs. SRX transfer rods but was told they are not interchangeable with the Viper/SXR rods being a bit longer than the SRX. I have both and can measure them tonight. Stay tuned.
