I am not an engine builder. If you want it done properly, give Iantomasi a shout at 1-905-263-4868. They'll fix you up. They will charge you roughly $250 / cylinder for porting, and probably $250 to redo your heads, so you're looking about $1K Cdn. I might be a bit off, but it'll be in that neighborhood.

Sounds like a mbrp can. Stock is faster, not inough resistense in most am. cans cousing the hp peak to go down in rpm's beqause of pipes running cooler.mattyg1405 said:is takin the can off really the answer????? i have an 01 running a loud can i dont know who makes it... its 3 black pipes into a chrome cylinder shaped can... anyone know what it is? and if a stock set-up would be better?
Are you speed running only or trail riding too. There's lot's you can do to set it up if speed running only. For trail go to a lightweight trail track 144 studs pull the limiter straps up all the way.Loosen the front suspension springs.gear up a tooth.Run 49/41 or something close.run a o-s-o primary.heavy hitters,8dn 00's,8dn 20's,89a10's,8bu's with a stock helix and tall gearing will easily bring you in the 120's.Chasis set up is half of it.

2002 IS THE LAST SRX. I LOVE MINE. VERY VERY FAST SET-UP PRORPERLY. I WILL NOT SUGGEST A SET-UP TO YOU BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY, BUT I WILL SAY YOU START LONG PULLS WITH THIS SLED, NOW THAT YOUR THINKING ABOUT PORTING AND CLUTCHING, YOU BETTER HAVE GOOD FUEL OR YOUR DCS IS GONNA DRIVE YA NUTS. 3:16 (yammie tony)

For my money "Les" is the best there is/was/will ever be! [LOL] Similar prices but he is a tuff to track down since Seargant Sports shut down. I think he is pretty involved with the carting group.
Les Barton, he is going to race port my Brother in law 600 skidoo for him800vmax4 said:For my money "Les" is the best there is/was/will ever be! [LOL] Similar prices but he is a tuff to track down since Seargant Sports shut down. I think he is pretty involved with the carting group.

What kind of HP numbers would you see on a srx with a mild port job?
