Ok I bought this sled last year and the previous owner put a bender racing helix on the secondary the numbers on the back are 9870. I called up bender and they said this is the helix they made for a 98 srx. Was this common or did this guy just slap it on there? I'm lookin to do yammigods clutch setup I have my primary set just need the helix figured out. If the bender I have is wrong can I just purchase a helix from hauck or do I have to find a used one somewhere? I'm a complete newbie so I know I'm looking for a 49-43 helix @1-6 70 degree helix. But I have no idea what that means. Is the 49 and the 43 a range so if if I find a helix between those it's good or is It an actual specific measurement of some sort? Same with the 1-6??? This is hard to learn for me over threads. I learn much better in person so please be patient with me. Or go screw yourself either is fine

So. I found out that the bender 9870 is a 53/43

53 / 43 means its a dual angle helix. 1-6 70 degree is referring to the spring setting. Your secondary has multiple holes (# 1 - 6) upon which you can set the secondary spring. HOWSAHEMI, YOU ARE CORRECT THATS NOT THE SECONDARY CAM YA NEED. 49/43 MULTI -ANGLE CAM IS AND YOU CAN GET THAT AT ANY OF THE YAMAHA PERFORMANCE. SHOPS. NOW ANY CAM AND ANGLES WILL WORK, BUT WILL IT WORK WITH YOUR PRIMARY SET-UP AND YOUR MOTOR ? YOU NEED EXACT WHAT I SUGGEST IN THAT CLUTCH SET-UP. AS EXPLAINED ABOVE, THIS IS VERY SIMPLE, 1-6 IS YOUR SETTING ON YOUR CAM AND SECONDARY SHEAVE. WHEN YOUR READY, DROP ME A PM AT vmax4.com AND I,LL WALK YA THROUGH.
