so im cutting all the studs out of my track cuz they are hammered and the plastic backers are cracked and the studs just worn... my question is... what size studs can i use with the stock 01 srx track?? whats the biggest? and does anyone know where i can but studs and backers? for a good price? also what anle carbide tip do i want?

I have a 99 that i just picked up a few months ago. All the stock studs were too short and worn. I went with Mack studs and round aluminum backers. Went with 1.075 which seem to be on the long side for the .92 track. I compared the mack to woodys 1.175 and both were the same leanth. They are 60deg carbide if i remember right. Just finished installing them all and boy is it a pita to remove the old studs. I have allways run the woodys in the past but the deal at the local grass drags from mack was too good to pass up. They seem pretty rugged and have a great warrenty 5 years no breaks or bends. Where i ride in New Hampshire you really need studs.

1.25 wontr work unless you go to smaller drivers, may heat exchangers. I would run 1.075 max.

I ran 192 1.250 Sabres in my '99 SRX with no issues. Be sure to keep the track tight though. Watch the "swing thru" as you manually pull the track past the exchanger. Put a couple in first just to see, and then decide if it's right for you.

I would not run over 1.075. If you need some check out our web site. I think the sabers studs are measured from top to bottom, Woody's are measured from the top of the backers to the tip. So the Sabers stud are about the same as the Woody's.

The Sabre 1.250 Warthog stud is measured from the bottom of the threads to the tip of the carbide. Overall length is approximately 1.550. These measurements are from a used stud. We ran these on my '99 SRX with no issues, but the track was always tight too. We ran Sabre 1.18 Warthogs on a '97 SX with great success also. They worked for us, but, once again, you have to be the judge since it's your equipment. We changed all of the studs to go to a push thru chisel.
