Today i deceided to pull my powervalves to check to see if any cables are pull through. I searched before i pulled one, My question is do i need to pull the 4 allen screws out to check for the pulled through wire or the seal with the 2 allen screws? Reason i ask is because i first pulled the one with 4 allens and the whole valve came out of the cylineder. That means the wire is still good and attached? I then pulled the 2 allen screws out and just seen the cable and a spring. Waiting for an answer before i pull the other two. Thanks in advanced!

Pull the four bolts out of the others and pull them out as a unit, then you can cle.an them no problem, make sure you put them back in the right way, some people put them in upside down which hurts performance Cheers

Yes the four allen bolt are what you want to take apart first. This will allow the entire assembly to come out. If the cable is still attached to the valve, and the end does not have any cracks near the cable itself, then the valve is good. Carefully slide it out of the jug and clean it up with a razor blade and some degreaser. Then a little cleaning inside the jug. Put it back together the same way and you are done with the cleaning part.

The two allen screws are for the adjustment of the valves. There are a couple very good write ups on how to accomplish this.

just because the valve came out w/the cable and housing, doesn't mean the valve is good. i've seen it many times, where the cable wasn't pulled thru quite yet, but just about there.....so valve is junk. need to take valves completely out and inspect the cable slots in the end of the valves. also, clean and then you will need to readjust the valves after reassembly.

What is the correct way to install them? does the taper go up or down?
