compression testing

You would only have all the plugs in and grounded if you are leaving the ignition live...ie: kill switch + ignition on. The only reason I could see anyone doing this is if you are checking for spark at the same time, not a very likely or wise procedure for the complete compression test!
 
must be just me but when i do a comp test i check spark too,i think there talking about electric start and if wires were all together the spark could back feed cdi, just my 2 cents. matco has a comp tester for around 29ish? nice 6 inch hose with straight up gauge and two thread sizes on fitting end, it comes in deluxe kit but you can buy it seperatly pretty accurite
